XY Planning Network has opened a national search for its next president, with Vince Hockett set to retire in spring 2027 after seven years at the fee-only advisor network. XYPN said it will run a transition period so the incoming president can work alongside Hockett before he leaves.
XYPN's membership has grown from approximately 1,172 advisors to 2,401 since Hockett joined in March 2020, and those advisors now serve more than 100,000 clients, according to the network. Hockett earlier held the title of chief revenue officer.
"When I joined XYPN, we were primarily known for helping advisors launch independent firms," Hockett said. "Today, we support advisors who have spent years building successful businesses, growing their teams, and serving more clients than ever before."
XYPN said 110 new firms are working toward RIA registration with its compliance team this year, up from 60 a year earlier. Firm launches remain a large part of the business, but more than two-thirds of the network has moved past the startup stage, which the network says helped drive the 2024 creation of Sapphire, its corporate RIA affiliation platform.
Sapphire has crossed $1 billion and now has 52 advisors serving more than 800 client households. Emerald, XYPN's monthly membership offering for independent RIAs, also added technology and partner tools during Hockett's tenure.
Co-founder and Chief Executive Alan Moore credited Hockett with scaling the organization. "Vince guided XYPN through a period of extraordinary growth, and positioned us to support a Network that has more than doubled in size," Moore said.
