The Mather Group adds $400 million Plano advisory practice
The Chicago firm has disclosed more than $700 million in additions this year, including a $300 million New Jersey practice.

The Mather Group has partnered with Legacy Consulting Group, a Plano practice with more than $400 million in assets under management, InvestmentNews reported Oct. 9. The move extends the Chicago firm's Dallas-Fort Worth presence.
Legacy is run by partners Roger Shake and Steven Wachs, who each have more than 35 years in the business, according to the report. Shake's practice centers on clients going through major personal and financial transitions. Wachs is the firm's chief investment officer and sets its investment philosophy and process. Legacy serves individuals, families and business owners with a model it calls financial life planning, which ties money decisions to a client's values and long-term goals.

With Legacy's more than $400 million, The Mather Group has disclosed more than $700 million of additions this year against $17 billion in reported assets; Legacy alone is roughly 2.4% of that total.
Legacy's clients will gain access to The Mather Group's tax, estate, financial planning and investment management resources, the report says. "By bringing our teams together, we can preserve the personalized relationships and thoughtful planning Legacy's clients value while expanding the resources and capabilities available to support them through every stage of their financial lives," chief executive Jennifer des Groseilliers said.
