What it does

Hadrius makes compliance software for firms regulated by the SEC and FINRA, including RIAs, broker-dealers and private fund managers. It was founded in 2023 by a team that had run an RIA, is based in New York and is backed by Y Combinator and other venture investors. The company says more than 1,000 firms use it.

The platform is organized into modules. Marketing review uses AI to check advertising and disclosures and route approvals under the SEC Marketing Rule. Communications supervision covers email, chat and social media, with archiving designed for FINRA and SEC record rules. Account surveillance compares trading by staff and by the firm with restricted lists, blackout periods and personal trading policies. People oversight handles attestations, certifications and code-of-ethics workflows. A testing module tracks risks, runs compliance tests and produces reports for annual reviews and exams, and a branch module manages branch inspections, questionnaires and remediation.

For broker-dealers, Hadrius addresses FINRA supervision rules 3110, 3120 and 3130 and WORM retention; for RIAs it centers on the compliance program rule 206(4)-7. The company says its AI does not retain client data. Leaders include co-founder and chief executive Thomas Stewart. Pricing is not published.
