XYPN's registration pipeline rises 83% to 110 firms
RIABiz ties part of the increase to advisors leaving rollup-owned firms, while 30-day tracking logged 2,008 advisor moves against 34 breakaways.
At a glance
XYPN says 110 firms are working toward registration, up from 60 a year earlier, an 83% increase.
Advisor moves outnumbered breakaways 59 to 1 in the last 30 days of tracking, 2,008 against 34.
The two figures measure different things — firms preparing to register versus breakaway events recorded — so XYPN's 110-firm pipeline is not a subset of the 34 breakaways.
XYPN says 110 firms are working toward registration, up from 60 a year earlier, an 83% increase. RIABiz ties part of the increase to advisors leaving rollup-owned firms. The count covers firms in the registration process, not firms that have completed it.
Advisor moves outnumbered breakaways 59 to 1 in the last 30 days of tracking, 2,008 against 34. Advisor moves were the largest single category in that window, ahead of 809 deal announcements; breakaways accounted for about 1.7% of the advisor moves recorded. New registrations totaled 147.
The two figures measure different things — firms preparing to register versus breakaway events recorded — so XYPN's 110-firm pipeline is not a subset of the 34 breakaways. Read together, they suggest a registration funnel wider than the breakaway count alone would indicate.
XYPN also says it has 2,400 members and has added more than 370 advisors in 2026. If the pipeline grew at the same 50-firm annual pace, it would reach 160 in a year's time; the tracking does not show how many of the 110 convert to registered firms, or on what timeline.
Where tracked events cluster
The 30-day firm leaderboard is topped by UBS at 99 tracked events, ahead of OpenArc Corporate Advisory at 96 and RFG Advisory at 85. These are counts of tracked events of all types, not advisor moves alone.
