Software that lets advisory firms deliver ongoing advice on clients' held-away 401(k) and 403(b) accounts
Sarasota, FL, USplanconfidence.comNot yet confirmed by the company
Plan Confidence is a platform for advisory firms that want to advise on retirement plan assets they do not custody, such as a client's 401(k) or 403(b) at an employer recordkeeper. RIAs can lease the software to deliver their own non-discretionary advice, or work with Plan Confidence under a co-adviser arrangement.
The system maps model allocations (conservative through aggressive, strategic and tactical) onto the specific fund lineup in each participant's plan, documents the recommendation for ERISA purposes, and automates the recurring advice workflow so it can be repeated across many held-away accounts. Firms can load their own models in place of the provided ones, and the site includes a calculator for estimating monthly profit from held-away advice. Trades can be placed through Pontera's order management system.
The company is based in Sarasota, Florida, and is itself an SEC-registered investment adviser. It was built by advisor Kevin Clark and software developer Mark Reddick. Firms pay a monthly software lease; plan details follow a demo.
