Student loan planning software for financial advisors: federal repayment, IDR and PSLF modeling, client reports
ID, USFounded 2022finology.techNot yet confirmed by the company
Finology Software is a student loan planning application for financial advisors, including independent RIAs and specialists who work with physicians, pharmacists, dentists, veterinarians and public-service employees carrying federal student debt.
Advisors import a client's federal loan data file, which the system parses into individual loans, servicers, plans and qualifying payment counts. The tool compares every repayment plan a borrower can still elect (including RAP under the 2026 rules), tracks PSLF progress, estimates tax owed on forgiven balances, compares joint and separate filing, and produces white-labeled PDF reports. The same calculation engine is exposed through a REST API, an MCP server and connectors for Claude, ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot.
Finology Software is a product of Finology LLC, founded in 2022 by Alex Bottom and based in Idaho with a remote team. The Advisor plan is $99 per advisor per month, or $89 per month billed annually, with a free 7-day trial.
