What it does

Family Law Software makes divorce finance software for attorneys, mediators and financial planners who work on family law cases. Its stated aim is to give legal and financial advisors tools to settle the money side of a divorce.

The program calculates child and spousal support and lets the user pick among several methods for spousal support, with worksheets that show each step so the other side and the court can check the math. It fills out state financial disclosure forms, such as the New York net worth statement and California income and expense declarations, with footnotes. Higher editions add property division with after-tax results, a marital and separate property report, defined benefit pension valuation, alimony buyout math, budgets, what-if scenarios and long-term projections. Clients can enter their own data through a secure online portal, and the professional then opens the file. The software runs in the cloud and can be used from any device.

The company says it was founded in 1996 and lists a Dallas, Texas mailing address in care of Centerbase LLC. Pricing is per professional, with free licenses for paralegals and other staff. Published monthly prices are $39.95 for Solo Basic, $49.95 for Firm Basic, $69.95 for Solo Complete and $79.95 for Firm Complete, each with a $99 initial charge. Firm editions halve the price after the third licensee. A two-week free trial and a two-month money-back guarantee are offered.
