Cetera Recruits $420M Duo From Commonwealth

Tucker Bria Wealth Strategies joins Summit Financial after LPL's Commonwealth deal.

According to Financial Advisor Magazine, Cetera announced that veteran advisors Jim Tucker and Patrick Bria, operating as Tucker Bria Wealth Strategies in Durham, N.C., have joined its Summit Financial Networks community. The practice oversees about $420 million in assets under administration. Each advisor has more than 25 years in the business, and they left Commonwealth Financial Network after 13 years, registering with Cetera Wealth Services in June. Their search followed LPL Financial's March 2025 announcement that it would acquire Commonwealth. Cetera cited its service and flexibility, along with the ability to keep Fidelity NFS as custodian and use existing third-party technology, as key reasons for the move.

Why it matters

The move reflects continued advisor migration in the wake of LPL's Commonwealth acquisition, with retention and recruiting hinging on custody flexibility and technology continuity. Cetera also highlighted the team's next-generation advisor development, signaling that succession-ready teams are increasingly attractive targets in RIA and broker-dealer recruiting.
