What it does

Daffy runs a donor-advised fund sold to individuals and families, with a program called Daffy for Advisors that lets financial advisors, including RIAs, work on their clients' charitable accounts. The company says its tens of thousands of members have more than $2 billion in charitable assets on the platform and has paid out more than $500 million to charities.

Members fund accounts with cash, stocks, ETFs, mutual funds, private stock, crypto or transfers from another donor-advised fund, take the tax deduction, and recommend grants to U.S. public charities later. Balances can sit in one of 17 model portfolios, including ESG and crypto options, or in a custom mix of ETFs and individual stocks. An advisor added to a member's account can make contributions, change the portfolio and recommend grants for the client. Up to 24 family members can join one account, and Daffy also offers fundraising campaigns and an employer giving product.

Pricing is a flat monthly membership starting at $3 and capped at $40, with no asset-based administrative fee and no minimum, and advisory firms can pay their clients' dues. Daffy Charitable Fund is a 501(c)(3) public charity; Adam Nash and Alejandro Crosa started the company, and the advisor program launched in 2023.
