- The capacity will support large-scale AI training and inference, enterprise AI and sovereign AI workloads.
- OneQode said it is discussing further capacity in India with AdaniConneX, up to 114MW.
- For allocators underwriting Indian capacity, the 114MW under discussion matters: it is more than three times Chennai 1's planned 33MW build-out, implying any expansion would need capacity beyond that campus.
OneQode signed an agreement for 14MW of data center capacity with AdaniConneX in Siruseri Sipcot, Chennai, its first deployment in India, Data Center Dynamics reported. The capacity will support large-scale AI training and inference, enterprise AI and sovereign AI workloads.
OneQode said it is discussing further capacity in India with AdaniConneX, up to 114MW. The 14MW commitment is smaller than the 110MW OneQode leased from Bitzero's Norway campus under a 15-year agreement. AdaniConneX is the joint venture of Adani Enterprises and EdgeConneX founded in February 2021. Chennai 1 is planned to total 33MW at full build-out, after a first 17MW phase launched in 2022. "India is becoming one of the most important markets for AI infrastructure globally," said Johnny Blackfield, chief growth officer and president for EMEA and India at OneQode.
For allocators underwriting Indian capacity, the 114MW under discussion matters: it is more than three times Chennai 1's planned 33MW build-out, implying any expansion would need capacity beyond that campus. The 14MW is close to the 17MW first phase launched in 2022.
The Chennai lease is a fraction of the capacity under discussion
