- Nxera runs 120MW in the city-state, including the 58MW DC Tuas facility it opened this year.
- The agreement names four possible supply routes: low-carbon hydrogen-based generation, biomethane-based generation, vertical building-applied photovoltaics, and renewable energy imports from the 2.2GW floating solar project at Linggiu Reservoir in Johor, Malaysia.
- For investors and lenders to data center projects, the hydrogen and biomethane routes require generation plant, while the Johor option depends on power imports crossing a border.
Nxera Singapore, Singtel's AI data center unit, signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Sembcorp to explore low-carbon power for its Singapore data centers, Data Center Dynamics reported on Oct. 28.

The agreement names four possible supply routes: low-carbon hydrogen-based generation, biomethane-based generation, vertical building-applied photovoltaics, and renewable energy imports from the 2.2GW floating solar project at Linggiu Reservoir in Johor, Malaysia. No power volumes were disclosed.
For investors and lenders to data center projects, the hydrogen and biomethane routes require generation plant, while the Johor option depends on power imports crossing a border. Sembcorp's March 25-year energy supply contract with Meta subsidiary Malkoha covers a 150MW floating solar project Sembcorp will build, own and operate in Singapore.
Nxera expects to take total capacity from 200MW to 400MW. Its Batam and Johor facilities are due online in the second half of 2026, when operational and pipeline capacity is expected to more than double from 200MW.
