Kintra Wealth, the employee-owned RIA launched in April from six wealth teams, has begun recruiting advisors and expects more acquisitions in 2026, CEO Andy Harris said in an interview with WealthManagement.com published Nov. 5. The Williamsport, Pa.-based firm manages about $4.3 billion in client assets. It completed its first acquisition in October. Terms were not disclosed.
For a team weighing an employee-owned RIA offer, the terms that matter are what 'interdependence' obliges a team to share, how equity is allocated, and whose compliance and technology stack the practice runs on. Kintra runs on Orion and Fidelity, which Harris said his team chose after reviewing four platforms, including Tamarack, Black Diamond and Addepar. The firm adopted the EOS operating system in 2021, with Georgia Potts as integrator.
Kintra was one of the standalone RIAs to emerge from Commonwealth teams that left after the LPL Financial acquisition. Harris said the RIA model gives him a compliance framework built for one practice rather than one serving thousands of advisors, plus access to private investments and alternatives that a prescribed platform did not offer. He launched Evergreen Wealth Solutions as an RIA in 2019 on that reasoning.
In late 2024, Harris's team was set to be the first mover on Continuum, a fee-only RIA channel Commonwealth was launching. Within two weeks, Commonwealth paused the channel and told the team Commonwealth was being acquired by LPL.
Commonwealth's Form ADV filed with the SEC on Sept. 29 reports $212.7 billion in regulatory assets, 4,200 employees and 615,215 accounts. Commonwealth remains far larger. Kintra's $4.3 billion is about 2% of that. A cut to LPL's retention terms implies $51 billion of assets leaving Commonwealth, as Private Wealth Daily previously reported.
Kintra is about 2% of Commonwealth's size
