The Khazaen Data Campus will sit on a 592,000 sq ft (55,000 sqm) site in Khazaen Economic City and will target enterprise colocation, high-density computing, AI and high-performance computing workloads. It has design capacity of 45MW and can accommodate up to 100MW longer term.

The developer is targeting international customers in Europe, North America and India as it builds digital infrastructure capability in Oman and the wider Gulf. The project is being developed in eight phases and is currently in design and approvals.

Oman is pursuing digital infrastructure under Vision 2040 to diversify away from oil. Data Center Map lists 15 data centers in the country, including two Equinix sites in Muscat and Salalah. Earlier this year, five companies from Oman, the UAE and Italy agreed to develop a 150MW hyperscale AI data center.
