Google to fund Arkansas grid for a 600 MW data center

Google also expanded a PJM demand-response program with Voltus to 1,170 MW and will take over a Colorado Springs dark fiber lease through mid-2027.

At a glance

  1. The expansion adds 1,070 MW, with a three-to-four-year ramp and a term to 2040.
  2. For allocators underwriting digital infrastructure, the expanded PJM program's term runs to 2040, while the June contract was three years, and the cash flow's value rests on Google's capacity obligation, which Voltus carries.
  3. A 440 MW solar PPA sits alongside the Arkansas commitment.

It also expanded its PJM demand-response program with Voltus to 1,170 MW, up from 100 MW in June. The expansion adds 1,070 MW, with a three-to-four-year ramp and a term to 2040. The June agreement was a three-year contract that pays PJM customers to participate, with Voltus carrying Google's capacity obligation.
