Apex Launches Prediction Markets Platform, Tastytrade First

Apex's turnkey API gives RIAs and wealth firms access to Kalshi's event contracts, with Tastytrade as first adopter.

Apex Fintech Solutions has launched a prediction markets platform, with an API that routes order flow to Kalshi's regulated exchange, WealthManagement.com reported. Tastytrade is the first firm on the platform, and Apex says it expects to onboard wealth managers and RIAs next. Apex handles FCM operations, clearing, segregated custody, and account management, while Kalshi provides event contracts and 24/7 trading. Travis McGhee, Apex's global head of digital markets, said inbound inquiries have risen over the past 18 months across sports, politics, and cultural events, including from wealth management clients.

Why it matters

For RIAs, Apex's API removes the need to build FCM infrastructure to access prediction markets. But advisors must register as introducing brokers with the NFA and CFTC, a hurdle that likely slows adoption. Apex's move signals that clearing firms are preparing distribution channels for event contracts as a new asset class, even before many wealth firms have established client demand.
