Syntax sends custom indices into Schwab's iRebal

Advisors can build custom indices under single sign-on and run them as account-level models in iRebal, WealthManagement.com reports.

At a glance

  1. iRebal users build indices in Syntax Direct through single sign-on.
  2. For an RIA running client accounts on iRebal, the change puts index creation, calculation and model management into the same workflow as the rebalancing and tax-management logic the firm already uses.
  3. Schwab's custody platform reported $5.85 trillion in advisor assets and $120.1 billion in third-quarter net new assets. iRebal came to Schwab through its acquisition of TD Ameritrade.

Syntax announced an integration that sends custom indices built in its Syntax Direct engine into Schwab's iRebal, the rebalancing platform advisors use to trade and tax-manage client accounts.

iRebal users build indices in Syntax Direct through single sign-on. The results flow into iRebal through an API as model portfolios that can be rebalanced, tax-managed and personalized down to the individual account and fractional share, according to WealthManagement.com.

For an RIA running client accounts on iRebal, the change puts index creation, calculation and model management into the same workflow as the rebalancing and tax-management logic the firm already uses. Syntax says the direct connection is intended to eliminate manual data handling and reconciliation lags between an index change and the account-level trades that follow.

Schwab's custody platform reported $5.85 trillion in advisor assets and $120.1 billion in third-quarter net new assets. iRebal came to Schwab through its acquisition of TD Ameritrade.
