SEI launched Pathfinder Portal, a practice-management hub for estimating advisory firm values and building succession plans, one of three advisor-technology rollouts reported by InvestmentNews on Oct. 23.
SEI, which manages, advises or administers about $2 trillion in assets, said the portal sits alongside its Growth Lab and covers valuation, continuity planning, education and peer networking. It is built to serve advisors across the full life of a practice, not only at the point of sale. Advisors can identify what drives their firm's value, build plans on their own timeline and turn the findings into documented plans with measurable next steps. The portal also lets users research sensitive questions, share documents securely and screen potential partners anonymously before deciding whether to engage.
For an advisor weighing a sale, the portal's valuation and document-sharing features put the number and the succession paperwork in one place before a buyer appears. Cerulli estimates roughly a third of advisors will retire within 10 years, while an Edward Jones survey found 58% lack a fully documented succession plan.
FinTurk, a Chicago-based AI-native CRM for RIAs, added FinBox, an email tool that connects advisors' Microsoft 365 or Gmail accounts to its platform, according to the company. Advisors can read, search, sort and answer email in the same workspace where they handle clients, tasks and portfolios. Messages link automatically to the correct client record, and the AI can draft replies using client account data, flag priority messages and recommend CRM updates or follow-up tasks. Advisors can write inbox rules in plain language. FinTurk said every AI-generated draft or action requires advisor approval before it executes.
FinTurk is also replacing the monthly AI credit on its Max plan with unlimited AI usage across the platform.
Powerlytics, an alternative data provider in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, rolled out Family View, which it says maps existing clients' relatives before inheritances change hands. The product gives advisors a view of family connections before assets move to heirs, addressing the risk that heirs walk away with their parents' assets.
