SC Capital Partners Group has completed an investment in a 40-megawatt AI data center development in Pohang, South Korea, in partnership with NeoAI Cloud. IREI, which reported the investment, said government-backed capital is also participating, providing public-sector support for the regional AI infrastructure initiative.

The purpose-built, high-density facility is designed for AI workloads, with liquid-cooled infrastructure ready for next-generation GPUs including NVIDIA Vera Rubin. The project has secured 40 megawatts of gross power capacity and is targeted for completion by the end of 2027.

The development has achieved power approval and building permits and has started construction, with an anchor tenant secured, IREI reported. The report describes interest received for the remaining IT load rather than signed commitments for that space. Neither the anchor tenant nor the government-backed investor is named.

"We are excited to complete this investment, which represents our continued expansion into digital infrastructure in Asia Pacific," Suchad Chiaranussati, chairman and founder of SC Capital Partners, said. He said the development benefits from strong underlying fundamentals and is well positioned to serve the evolving requirements of the digital economy.
