Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners executives argue pandemic made digital infrastructure essential

Yacine Saidji and John Watson made the case in a March 1, 2021 Infrastructure Investor article.

Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners' Yacine Saidji and John Watson argued in a March 1, 2021 Infrastructure Investor article that the pandemic established digital infrastructure as an essential service, and that the shift carries significant implications for the asset class.

The argument is a sector-level demand case: essential-service status supports digital infrastructure's place in portfolios, but it does not by itself underwrite a given fiber route or data center lease.
