Janus Henderson launches China active UCITS ETF at 0.39% fee

The fund, ticker JCHN, holds about 100 to 150 Chinese companies and is managed by Benjamin Wang, Zoey Zhu and Victoria Mio.

At a glance

  1. Wang, Zhu and Mio have 21, 13 and 28 years of industry experience, respectively.
  2. For allocators, the 0.39% fee, 100-to-150-stock range and London listing are the terms to compare against existing China exposure.
  3. Victoria Mio, head of Greater China equities at Janus Henderson, said: "Current valuations appear attractive, while the dispersion of returns across Chinese companies and sectors creates opportunities for active managers to enhance performance."

Janus Henderson launched the China Equity Active Core UCITS ETF on the London Stock Exchange under ticker JCHN, with a total expense ratio of 0.39%, ETF Express reported on Nov. 4.

The fund holds about 100 to 150 Chinese companies and is managed by Benjamin Wang, Zoey Zhu and Victoria Mio, head of Greater China equities. Wang, Zhu and Mio have 21, 13 and 28 years of industry experience, respectively.

For allocators, the 0.39% fee, 100-to-150-stock range and London listing are the terms to compare against existing China exposure. A UCITS ETF listed in London may sit on European and Asian platforms rather than US brokerage shelves, narrowing the client pool it can reach. Its holdings file and realized performance against an incumbent China allocation are the practical tests.

Victoria Mio, head of Greater China equities at Janus Henderson, said: "Current valuations appear attractive, while the dispersion of returns across Chinese companies and sectors creates opportunities for active managers to enhance performance."

Janus Henderson said the fund is the latest addition to its active ETF franchise. It comes after the firm's Nasdaq-100 fund on the Stellar network, as Private Wealth Daily previously reported.
