Vestmark and Allspring build tax-aware model portfolios

Allspring's active strategies will sit inside a platform Vestmark says handles trading, rebalancing and tax overlays for advisors.

At a glance

  1. Rob Battista, executive vice president for advisory solutions at Vestmark, said in a statement that "advisors can maintain their investment approach while we help manage the trading, tax management and implementation behind the scenes."
  2. Advisors already running models on Vestmark's platform get Allspring's actively managed strategies without changing the trading, rebalancing and tax-transition work Vestmark performs, so integration is handled.
  3. Vestmark's Form ADV, filed March 30, 2026, lists $49.9 billion in regulatory assets, 33 employees and 84,069 accounts.

Vestmark and Allspring Global Investments formed a partnership to build tax-aware model portfolios, adding Allspring's active strategies to Vestmark's unified managed account infrastructure, WealthManagement.com reported Oct. 28.

That infrastructure covers outsourced investment management, trading, rebalancing, tax-aware transitions and ongoing tax management through Vestmark Advisory Solutions and its VAST tax-overlay solution. Rob Battista, executive vice president for advisory solutions at Vestmark, said in a statement that "advisors can maintain their investment approach while we help manage the trading, tax management and implementation behind the scenes."

Advisors already running models on Vestmark's platform get Allspring's actively managed strategies without changing the trading, rebalancing and tax-transition work Vestmark performs, so integration is handled. What an RIA pays for that work against staffing it internally is the comparison left to the firm. Terms of the partnership were not disclosed.

Vestmark's Form ADV, filed March 30, 2026, lists $49.9 billion in regulatory assets, 33 employees and 84,069 accounts. Deal Tracker records one Vestmark transaction in the past 12 months, announced Sept. 9, 2026, with Vestmark as the target.

WisdomTree and Return Stacked on Quorus

WisdomTree and Return Stacked ETFs formed a strategic relationship to deliver capital-efficient, co-branded model portfolios through Quorus' portfolio implementation platform. The arrangement builds on WisdomTree's existing relationship with Quorus, which began in June 2025.

According to WisdomTree, capital-efficient ETFs combine multiple strategies in one vehicle, coupling core market exposures with bond futures, gold and long/short equity. Return Stacked ETFs pair traditional market exposures with managed futures, merger arbitrage and other systematic strategies.

The models are open architecture and will include both proprietary and third-party strategies, managed by WisdomTree's model portfolio investment committee with input from the Return Stacked team.
