CW Advisors, the Boston-based RIA owned by Osaic, acquired Yosemite Capital Management, Threadgill Financial and Peddock Capital Advisors, which oversee a combined $1.6 billion in assets.
The deals lift the firm to $19.7 billion in AUM across 30 offices, WealthManagement.com first reported on Nov. 6. A spokesperson said CW Advisors is "on track" to acquire eight firms in 2026. Prices and funding were not disclosed.
Peddock's transaction also includes its tax practice, Peddock Tax Services. The acquisitions add five offices in California, Massachusetts and Texas. The Woodlands and League City are the firm's first locations in Texas.
Sellers comparing aggregators on headline AUM should check which asset definition each buyer is using. CW Advisors' Oct. 9 Form ADV, filed before the announcement, shows $15.2 billion in regulatory assets, $2.9 billion below the $19.7 billion figure the firm now cites. Adding the $1.6 billion of acquired assets gives $16.8 billion.
Advisors at the three acquired firms now sit inside an Osaic-owned fee-only channel. WealthManagement.com ties the strategy to Osaic CEO Jamie Price's thesis that an IBD can run such a channel to attract outside advisors and keep internal ones who want to move away from commission-based business.
Gladstone Associates represented Peddock, and Boardwalk Financial Partners advised Yosemite and Threadgill. The acquired firms average about $530 million in assets. CEO Scott Dell-Orfano was already acquiring firms before he sold CW Advisors to Osaic, when it managed $13.5 billion. Osaic has $810 billion in assets under management and advisement. CW Advisors is about 2.4% of that total.
