Anthropic announces Claude plugin connecting to Schwab, Orion and advisor systems

The plugin connects to providers including Schwab, Orion, Addepar, BlackRock, Envestnet, iCapital, Wealthbox, Wealth.com and Zocks, with advisors choosing which services to connect during setup.

At a glance

  1. Advisors select the services they want to connect during setup.
  2. Anthropic said Schwab's connector provides balances, positions, transactions, cost basis, alerts and money-movement status.
  3. For advisors weighing the tool, the gating question is what it can reach.

Anthropic announced Claude for Financial Advisors, an AI offering that connects with advisor technology and provides tools for research, meeting preparation, portfolio analysis and documentation. Advisors select the services they want to connect during setup. According to Wealth Solutions Report, the bundled plugin connects with providers including Addepar, BlackRock, Schwab, Envestnet, iCapital, Orion, Wealthbox, Wealth.com and Zocks, bringing information from connected systems into Claude.

Anthropic said Schwab's connector provides balances, positions, transactions, cost basis, alerts and money-movement status. The company said advisors can use that information to prepare reviews and identify clients needing attention, and that advisors remain responsible for reviewing and approving investment recommendations, client communications, compliance determinations and other regulated activities. Separately, Dynasty Financial Partners is embedding Claude models in its own advisor desktop.

For advisors weighing the tool, the gating question is what it can reach. Because each firm picks its own connected services at setup, which systems a practice already runs in the custodian, CRM and planning stack likely shapes what Claude can actually see.

Envestnet raised its technology investment in Tamarac to 2.5 times its prior level, including a $35 million investment, as part of a five-year $1 billion research and development commitment. The company introduced Report Studio for RIAs and expanded reporting, financial planning and investment capabilities. Its third technology release of 2026 also adds a customizable Wealth Management Platform dashboard. Report Studio is available, while its AI-enabled version was offered for preview and beta signup, with general availability planned for later this fall.
