Forward redemption notices at hedge funds on SS&C GlobeOp's platform fell to 1.62% of assets in October, from 2.02% in September and below the 2.06% five-year average. The figures rest on a single report by Opalesque citing SS&C data, published Oct. 21.
The 1.62% October reading is the lowest since April 2026, when the indicator touched an all-time low of 1.26%, and it sits below the 12-month high of 2.43% recorded in November 2025.
For allocators, the indicator is a pipeline measure, not a record of assets already leaving. It divides forward redemption notices by platform assets at the start of the month; notices typically arrive 30 to 90 days before the redemption date and can be cancelled. A 1.62% reading implies a smaller share of assets queued to leave than September's 2.02%, which matters when comparing funds with different notice periods and gates.
SS&C Chairman and CEO Bill Stone tied the reading to the macro backdrop — U.S. midterm elections, rising inflation and the financing of the AI buildout — and said "allocators continue to favor hedge funds" to manage drawdowns and improve risk-adjusted returns.
SS&C GlobeOp's assets under administration represent roughly 10% of estimated global hedge fund assets, according to the report. The next indicator is due Nov. 20, 2026.
