South Korea launches 10-year K-GX strategy to mobilize $747 billion

The plan pairs 200 trillion won of direct spending with 570 trillion won of state-backed climate finance, totaling 770 trillion won.

South Korea has launched the K-GX strategy, a ten-year plan to mobilize $747 billion for the country's transition. The plan allocates 200 trillion won to direct government spending and 570 trillion won to state-backed climate finance, for a total of 770 trillion won.

The two public components total 770 trillion won and place the state balance sheet at the center of the decarbonization pipeline. Private capital appears only as the residual after those public commitments.
