SBA said the transactions reduce its 2026 full-year outlook by approximately $10 million of site leasing revenue, $6 million of tower cash flow and $4 million of adjusted EBITDA, Data Center Dynamics reported. Terms for the Chile and Ecuador sales were not disclosed, and the Peru sale is subject to regulatory approvals.
For investors with tower exposure, Brazil will be SBA's only South American market once Peru clears approval. The company is more than doubling new tower builds in markets where it already has scale, according to Chief Executive Brendan Cavanagh.
SBA's third-quarter site rental revenue was $665.4 million, up 1.4% from a year earlier. The $10 million full-year reduction equals roughly 1.5% of that quarter's site rental revenue.
Cavanagh put the sales in the context of a narrower international remit. "Internationally, we continued to sharpen our focus, agreeing to sell our towers in three South American markets, completing our exit from the region outside of Brazil," he said.
SBA is also pushing compute at its domestic sites through SBA Edge. It launched an edge data center site in Texas in July, and Cavanagh said several sites are running with companies building out distributed AI inference capacity. "So far, the incremental capital remains minimal," he said on the earnings call. Edge compute at tower sites is drawing other capital too; as Private Wealth Daily previously reported, one compute joint venture launched with a Texas tower site that had power and permits.
