Reach Capital closes $265 million fifth fund for inclusive AI

Reach Capital's fifth fund backs startups at the intersection of learning, health, and work, as AI moves to the center of impact investing.

At a glance

  1. The firm is looking for founders using artificial intelligence to reshape how people learn, live, and earn.
  2. The close arrives in a busy week for impact investing.
  3. 'Inclusive AI' is a heavy label for $265 million.

Reach Capital has closed a fifth fund at $265 million, built around what it calls inclusive AI, ImpactAlpha reports. The firm is looking for founders using artificial intelligence to reshape how people learn, live, and earn. Its stated target: mission-driven companies where learning, health, and work intersect.

The close arrives in a busy week for impact investing. All Aboard Coalition banked $133 million for its debut climate-tech fund on the same day. Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners closed a $3 billion clean-energy fund for growth markets. Reach's latest fund is the firm's fifth impact vehicle, a pace that suggests a repeatable model, not a one-off bet. It is a venture fund, writing checks sized for software and services rather than power plants.

'Inclusive AI' is a heavy label for $265 million. It lets Reach claim a share of the AI boom while flagging the distributional questions—bias, access, displacement—that a plain AI fund can ignore. The substance will show up in portfolio construction: how the firm defines inclusion in underwriting, and whether the companies it backs build for underserved users or merely market to them. The published coverage does not identify the fund's limited partners.

The raise fits a wider pattern in sustainable investing, where AI is becoming part of impact mandates. Citi now counts data-center loans in its $1 trillion green-finance ledger. Bank of America's $250 billion transition package focuses on the energy and minerals beneath AI. Reach's fifth close is a smaller version of that move: AI exposure combined with an impact mandate. The close suggests limited partners are still willing to pay for that combination.
