Northwestern Mutual adds family office services for clients with $50 million net worth

Family investment vehicles were named in eight transactions this week, including Ljungström's €62.5 million AnaCardio Series B co-lead with Novo Holdings.

Family investment vehicles were named in eight transactions this week, according to Family Office Hub: six venture rounds, a majority-stake sale and a gym merger.

Ljungström co-led AnaCardio's €62.5 million Series B with Novo Holdings, the only family lead among the six venture rounds, according to Family Office Hub.

Two days earlier, Ljungström joined Breye Therapeutics' €67.5 million Series A as a new investor; Novo Holdings also appeared in that round.

Universal Quantum's more than $100 million Series A will fund a Singapore R&D centre and expansion in the US, Japan and Hamburg, Family Office Hub reported. Oetker Ventures returned for Hadrian's $40 million round, taking the startup's total funding to $65 million, according to the same outlet.

Italmobiliare agreed to sell 80% of Capitelli to CA Animation at a €36 million enterprise value, one of the week's two non-venture transactions. Italmobiliare puts its return at three times cash invested including dividends, or a 20% IRR, though no holding period was disclosed. Verlinvest and Family Trust Investor merged five bouldering brands into a 39-gym group, with Verlinvest contributing The Climbing Hangar and Boulders and Family Trust Investor contributing three German-speaking brands.

Northwestern Mutual's specialists sit inside the advisory channel that already serves the firm's $50 million-plus clients.
