Nationwide Renaissance Small Cap Growth (NWGPX) leads the 50-fund list from Morningstar — Financial Advice, at an estimated 57% of net asset value. Nationwide's estimate follows outflows that cost it more than 60% of start-of-year assets as it changed its name and process.
Only 11 of the 50 funds had outflow rates below 10%, and almost half lost more than 25% of assets. Columbia Select Large Cap Growth's A shares (ELGAX) are estimated at roughly 56% of NAV, while its institutional shares (UMLGX) are estimated at 42%. The two share classes pay the same dollar amount per share because they carry different NAVs and inception dates.
Clients holding these funds in a taxable account owe tax on the distribution even if proceeds are reinvested, so share class and payout date are the details to check.
