Millennium Management is set to hire Max Witcher, a senior equity derivatives trader at Balyasny Asset Management, to lead a new investment pod in London, according to eFinancialCareers reporting cited by Hedgeweek.

Witcher specializes in delta one trading and worked within portfolio manager Dan Avery's team at Balyasny. His Balyasny registration ended in July, according to the FCA. The Millennium appointment has not been confirmed. Before Balyasny he held positions at LMR Partners, JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs, and he was briefly registered with Millennium in 2020 before moving to LMR.

Allocators evaluating the platform will want the pod's capital and how the strategy fits Millennium's existing equity derivatives book. That capital figure has not been disclosed. Millennium's Form ADV filed Aug. 25 lists $720.8 billion in regulatory assets and 6,670 employees; Balyasny's June 30 filing lists $248.1 billion and 2,434.
