LPL lands $350M veteran duo from Corebridge

Tampa-based advisors move to independent platform, latest in a wave of veteran team recruiting.

Matt Roberts and Kent Voges, a Tampa-based advisor team who worked together for 24 years, have joined Frontline Investment Advisors, an LPL Financial-affiliated firm powered by 15 Wealth, according to InvestmentNews. The pair moved from Valic Financial Advisors, now known as Corebridge Financial, and brought approximately $350 million in advisory, brokerage, and retirement plan assets. Their practice focuses on pre-retirees and retirees, as well as helping the next generation build wealth. InvestmentNews also reported that Raymond James & Associates added two Midwest teams—Abby Stancik and Julie Sabransky from Wells Fargo with $200 million in assets, and Michael Rose and Scott Gillespie from Stifel with $316 million—and that UBS added advisors Mitch Edwards and Jeff Stanley in Ohio.

Why it matters

For RIA principals, the moves highlight the competitive pull of independent platforms that offer operational support. Voges specifically cited 15 Wealth and Frontline Investment Advisors for streamlining business operations, freeing advisors to serve clients. The steady flow of veteran teams from insurance and wirehouse channels into independent models reflects the ongoing restructuring of advisor economics and client service.

This is a routine $350M move, but it's a data point in a larger recruiting rhythm: legacy platforms lose experienced teams, independent and hybrid firms gain them, and mid-sized RIAs must decide whether their own support infrastructure is strong enough to attract or retain such talent.
