Generative Bionics plans to build an AI data center in Italy's Liguria region inside a 5,000 sqm humanoid-robotics facility it calls the Physical AI Data Factory, Data Center Dynamics reported Oct. 26.
The data center will run on AMD Helios infrastructure, and the site could be partially operational by the fourth quarter of 2027. IT capacity has not been disclosed, and the location within Liguria is undisclosed; the company is based in the region.
For infrastructure investors the disclosures stop at the platform: IT capacity and the exact location are unstated, leaving no basis to size the compute load or underwrite the build against third-party colocation economics.
The data center is meant to keep fleets of the company's first robot, Gene.01, working continuously in real conditions to generate training data before customer deployments. The company said those operations would produce physical data for training world action models and validating the full robot system, including perception, control, safety behaviour and task execution.
Each physical environment and robot configuration will also be recreated as a digital twin, so tasks can be repeated across thousands of variations in layout, objects, materials, operating conditions and failure modes. Models trained in simulation go back to the robots for validation, and data from physical work feeds the next training cycle.
"We are replicating the world, physically and digitally, to train humanoid robots at scale before they ever enter it," CEO Daniele Pucci said. Generative Bionics said the facility is intended to keep the data, models and know-how behind Europe's industrial humanoids generated, trained and validated on the continent.
