CAPTRUST Financial Advisors acquired Pacific Sage Partners, an Edmonds, Wash. RIA with about $1.1 billion in client assets and an eight-person team, the Raleigh, N.C. firm announced Oct. 29, 2026.

The team is led by founder and CEO Mark Anderson and includes William Cantus, president, financial advisors Colin Gray and James McBarron, and four client service staff, WealthManagement.com reported. All eight will take the CAPTRUST brand. Anderson started Pacific Sage in March 2022 after about eight years as a managing principal at Tradewinds Capital Management, a Shoreline, Wash. RIA, and 19 years at Edward Jones before that.

CAPTRUST reports $1.3 trillion in assets under advisement, with roughly $320 billion of client holdings in discretionary accounts according to its most recent Form ADV. Anderson said CAPTRUST supplies "the resources and support to spend less time on the operational side of running a business and more time focused on helping clients navigate important financial decisions." For an RIA owner weighing a sale, the comparable that matters is CAPTRUST's cadence: 10 deals announced so far this year, WealthManagement.com reported.

The named deals size up from there. Alpha Cubed Investments, a Southern California RIA with $3.8 billion in assets, came in February, and Stillwater Capital Advisors, a Devon, Pa. firm with $1.25 billion under management, followed in May, InvestmentNews reported. Before Pacific Sage, CAPTRUST announced Hoge-Barrett Group, a 13-person team overseeing more than $3 billion in Winston-Salem, N.C. Last month it acquired two longtime affiliated RIAs in Melville, N.Y., with seven professionals and $1.2 billion in client assets combined.

MarshBerry's John Orsini put the assets of CAPTRUST's four acquisitions between Jan. 31 and May 14 at about $8.28 billion, InvestmentNews reported. At $1.1 billion, Pacific Sage is smaller than each of the 2026 deals the two outlets sized, which suggests CAPTRUST is buying regional density as much as scale: the deal gives it a third Washington office.

CAPTRUST already operates offices in Wenatchee and Bellevue, Wash., with 14 employees including 10 advisors, InvestmentNews reported. Carolyn Armitage of Wealth Management Consulting served as Pacific Sage's fiduciary adviser on the transaction, with Carr Butterfield LLP as legal counsel, InvestmentNews reported. In August the firm recruited former NorthRock chief operating officer Emily Vennerstrom as senior director of mergers and acquisitions.
