Capital Group: 13% of advisors use AI beyond basics

Brock Sutton says 83% of advisors use AI weekly, and firms should inventory AI tools, rank use cases and name an accountable owner.

13%of advisors use AI for frontier capabilities like workflow automation

Eighty-three percent of advisors use AI week over week, but only 13% use it for frontier capabilities such as automating workflows, according to Capital Group research reported by InvestmentNews.

Brock Sutton, Capital Group's head of emerging client capabilities, told InvestmentNews at Schwab IMPACT in Boston that advisors should know which AI tools they use, rank their use cases and name an accountable owner.

Sutton said the average RIA is among the more sophisticated AI users because it controls its technology decisions, and he cited firms that have built custom portfolio analytics inside AI tools.
