Blackford Capital's Two Funds Report $130M in Combined Sales
Main fund sold $90M of $130M target; co-investment vehicle fully subscribed at $40M, per SEC filings.
Blackford Capital Opportunity Fund II, LP has sold $90 million of a $130 million target, according to an SEC Form D filed August 14. The filing shows a first sale date of August 6.
A companion vehicle, Blackford Capital Co-Investment Fund II, LP, reported $40 million sold, the full offering amount, in a separate Form D filed the same day. Its first sale date is also August 6.
Both filings list Blackford Capital Opportunity Fund II GP, LLC, Martin Stein, Rick Lopez, and Jeffrey Johnson as related persons. Separately, Capital Alliance Private Equity V L.P. disclosed $1 million sold of an undisclosed offering with a first sale July 30, per a Form D filed August 14.
The Blackford filings show a mid-market sponsor with $130 million in combined sales across a main fund and a co-investment vehicle, the latter fully subscribed at $40 million. A fully sold sidecar suggests appetite from investors.
The eight-day gap between first sale and filing points to a quick start, though pre-marketing is possible. At 69% of its target, the main fund has room to grow, but the pace is strong if the first sale date is accurate.
Co-investment vehicles typically offer LPs exposure with different fee structures, but the Form Ds do not disclose terms. The fully subscribed sidecar likely reflects demand for direct deal access.
Future Form D amendments will show whether the main fund reaches its $130M target and whether the co-investment vehicle upsizes.
