Verdant Rock, the Bermuda-based financial guarantor founded in 2025, has been assigned an A financial strength rating and an A (low) issuer rating by Morningstar DBRS, the company said.
The rating reflects strong projected earnings ability, a robust risk profile, sound liquidity and good capitalisation, according to Verdant Rock. The company holds a Class 3B licence from the Bermuda Monetary Authority and says it plans to deliver investment-grade financial guarantee capacity at scale across Asia, Africa, Latin America and Eastern Europe, regions it describes as underserved.
The DBRS ratings follow the BBB+ long-term insurer financial strength rating that Fitch Ratings assigned on June 12, 2026. Cofounder and chief executive Tolga Uzuner called the second agency's decision 'a result we are proud of' and said it answers the dual-agency question for counterparties that require confirmation from two recognised agencies before accepting a financial guarantee.
Uzuner said the DBRS rating came six months after the company received its BMA licence. Morningstar DBRS assessed projected earnings ability rather than a realised record, according to the company's account of the review.
