Ameriprise adds 258 Huntington advisors in bank liftout

$28 billion of client assets will transfer through early 2027, according to the firm's third-quarter earnings release.

At a glance

  1. Terms were not disclosed, but spread across the 258 advisors, the $28 billion works out to roughly $108 million in client assets per advisor.
  2. For advisors at any bank-owned program, the timetable is the usable detail: a book this size changes firms over quarters, not weeks.
  3. Ameriprise describes a nationwide network of more than 10,000 financial advisors, so the 258 Huntington advisors equal about 2.6% of that network in a single transaction.

Ameriprise Financial reported that 258 Huntington Bank advisors and $28 billion of client assets are moving to the firm, with the transition running through early 2027, according to its third-quarter 2026 earnings release.

For advisors at any bank-owned program, the timetable is the usable detail: a book this size changes firms over quarters, not weeks. The 258 advisors face a repapering job before anything else. Accounts, statements and platform access shift to Ameriprise over the transition. Retention is settled account by account across that window.

Ameriprise describes a nationwide network of more than 10,000 financial advisors, so the 258 Huntington advisors equal about 2.6% of that network in a single transaction. Because the transfer runs through early 2027, the $28 billion will fill in over several quarters rather than on one date.
