Alcur Fonder will reopen Alcur Classic to new subscriptions at the turn of October and November, lifting limits the Swedish manager placed on the Nordic equity hedge fund at the start of 2026.
The fund held SEK 9.6 billion at the end of August 2026, HedgeNordic reported Oct. 19, citing the firm's team. After the reopening, the fund will take subscriptions at the end of each month.
For allocators who found the fund restricted through 2026, the change restores a monthly entry point. Capacity remains the due-diligence question: Alcur says its ability to manage larger volumes has been tested and evaluated, but the report gives no fee, minimum or revised capacity figure against which to judge the SEK 9.6 billion already in it.
The firm attributes the reopening to work on its investment organization, processes and systems, including three summer appointments across investment management, trading and compliance. Isak Lenholm joined from Carnegie Fonder, where he spent five and a half years and most recently managed small- and micro-cap investments, to focus on Alcur Classic. Milan Simonovic joined as a trader after three and a half years at SEB working on algorithmic trading and trade monitoring.
Alcur Classic launched in early 2007 and runs low net exposure in Nordic equities, combining stock selection with portfolio risk management. It targets 4-8% annualized return with 2-5% annual volatility, according to HedgeNordic.
The first monthly subscription window after the change falls at the end of November.
