1KOMMA5° raised more than €70 million ($78 million) at a $1.35 billion pre-money valuation, a 35% increase on its July 2025 funding round, the Hamburg clean energy company said.

Proceeds go to accelerating development and commercialization of the platform that connects home energy devices to the grid. Founded in 2021, the company installs solar panels, batteries, heat pumps, air conditioning and electric vehicle chargers. Its Heartbeat AI software connects and controls those systems and sells electricity on customers' behalf on power exchanges, aiming to cut their energy costs and support grid stability.

1KOMMA5° plans to invest over €100 million in its Heartbeat AI platform in 2027, targeting AI development, software capabilities and go-to-market speed. Heartbeat AI optimizes more than 100,000 energy systems, which the company describes as one of Europe's largest virtual power plants.

CFO and co-founder Micha Grüber said the round "was the first round focusing specifically on our energy AI solutions and was oversubscribed." He added that the company is making record investments in its software. The core hardware business remains profitable and cash-flow positive, and the company remains debt-free.

CEO and co-founder Philipp Schröder said the objective is building "a universal energy AI that works as an end-to-end operating system," with the ambition of bringing affordable clean energy to millions of people. ESG Today's report describes the round as making the company the latest cleantech unicorn.

b2venture led the raise. Existing investors CalSTRS, eCapital, G2 Venture Partners and Eurazeo, a returning investor, joined new investor Marunouchi Innovation Partners, described in the announcement as a Japanese cleantech growth fund.
