Leveraging advanced experience across corporate, municipal, and structured products markets, this role independently conducts deep fundamental, market, and economic research; develops investment theses; and provides high-conviction recommendations to portfolio managers.

These recommendations include issuer-specific guidance and portfolio parameter changes, both of which directly impact day-to-day trading activities across a $2 billion portfolio.

The role works directly with financial advisors to support end-client conversations, participates in portfolio positioning and the creation of new strategies, and additionally executes trades across client portfolios with precision, market awareness, and product expertise.

It is anticipated that an incumbent in this role will work as a Hybrid employee, with three (3) or more days each week required on-site at one of the listed office locations. Candidates should be located within a commutable distance to an office.

Internal candidates currently aligned to an Orion office location may be given preference; however, internal candidates with varying work arrangements may be considered based on experience and business needs. Work location is subject to change based on business needs.

Place corporate, treasury, municipal, structured product, and agency trades across client portfolios, ensuring accuracy, compliance alignment, and efficient implementation of portfolio strategy. Partner with financial advisors by delivering fixed income market insights, product knowledge, and credit perspectives to support end-client conversations.

Lead the development and maintenance of municipal and corporate credit frameworks, sector outlooks, and approved issuer lists. Monitor municipal and corporate market developments and provide regular credit updates to portfolio managers and advisors. Serve as a primary research partner to portfolio managers in portfolio construction and sector allocation decisions.

Provide recommendations regarding portfolio positioning, duration management, sector weighting, and credit allocation. Participate in investment strategy discussions and contribute to strategic portfolio decisions. Serve as lead researcher on the buildout of new strategies. Mentor and train Fixed Income Analysts on credit research methodologies, municipal and corporate analysis, and fixed income market fundamentals.

Represent the credit committee in advisor meetings, client reviews, and market update presentations. Create fixed income content for internal audiences, advisors, and end clients. Identify and implement process improvements that increase research efficiency and scalability.
