About the role

Role
Operations associate or manager
Seniority
Associate
Type
Full-time

Our European liquid credit business is growing, and with it, our CLO platform. As new deals come to market and existing ones mature, we're looking for an experienced CLO operations professional to join the team that keeps it all running.

The Role

This is a hands-on position at the centre of Hayfin's CLO strategy. You'll own the operational side of our CLOs from the day a warehouse is set up through to the quarterly payment cycle and everything in between.

That might mean working through warehouse tests and drawdown requests as a new deal takes shape, running the Interest Payment Date calculations that make sure every dollar flows where the documentation says it should, or picking up the phone to a trustee when the numbers on two systems don't quite agree. You'll work closely with our portfolio managers, finance and compliance colleagues, and with the administrators and trustees we rely on externally.

Much of the job is about being the person who knows how the structure actually works, and who can find the answer in the documentation quickly when someone asks.

Responsibilities

  • Reconciling positions and cash daily across our systems and service providers
  • Monitoring cash flows and portfolio compliance to make sure allocations and distributions follow the deal documents
  • Taking new CLOs and warehouses through the full onboarding lifecycle
  • Managing relationships with administrators and trustees, and holding them to agreed service levels
  • Building and maintaining the controls, processes and data standards that keep the team's work accurate and auditable
  • Spotting operational risks early and putting sensible controls in place
  • Contributing to team and firmwide projects, from process improvement and automation to supporting new product launches in Liquid Credit

Requirements

You've spent at least 4 years working with loans or structured credit, either on the administrator side or in buy-side operations, and you understand the CLO lifecycle front to back. You're comfortable in CLO documentation and confident with the numbers.

You're likely to have:

  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with Bloomberg
  • Experience with asset servicing systems such as WSO, Solvas or Sentry
  • The discipline to deliver consistently, from the daily close to the quarterly payment date
  • A clear communication style, and the ability to build good working relationships inside and outside the firm
  • An analytical mindset and the judgement to make decisions that serve the business
  • A proactive approach to risk, controls and compliance
