The Role

We are hiring a Head of Content to join our Corporate Marketing team. The Corporate Marketing team is responsible for growing the Blue Owl brand and supporting the firm in its ambition to be one of the preeminent firms in the asset management industry.

Our goal is to raise the firm’s visibility by using our global marketing and communications platform to support our firm, its publicly-traded vehicles, and its sales and client marketing efforts. We seek to deliver the most effective, innovative, and scalable ways to express the traits that set Blue Owl apart.

The Head of Content will be responsible for defining, operationalizing, and managing the firm’s overarching corporate-level content strategy.

This individual will orchestrate the effective use of existing content; establish a cohesive strategic framework for how corporate-level content is developed, prioritized, governed, and distributed; and ensure the firm’s strongest, unique perspectives are elevated consistently and at scale.

The role is designed for a highly-motivated, self-directed leader who is comfortable operating in situations without an established playbook.

The Head of Content will partner closely with teams across corporate marketing, client marketing, communications, investment platforms, investor relations, legal, and compliance to align on corporate-level content priorities, influence shared processes, and improve how content is created, used, and distributed.

The position also involves providing leadership to the firm’s video program, ensuring video is integrated into the broader content ecosystem and deployed strategically to support business and brand objectives.

Responsibilities

Develop and own a comprehensive, corporate-level content strategy that aligns with business priorities, brand positioning, and audience needs and complements client marketing efforts.

Partner with client marketing to establish processes and frameworks to centralize, coordinate, and provide visibility into existing and upcoming content so storytelling is consistent across teams, products, channels, formats, and audiences.

Bring key stakeholders across the firm along to align on editorial priorities, drive adoption of shared workflows, partner with client marketing to address content gaps and redundancies, and ensure content is developed and deployed strategically and efficiently.

Develop and maintain relationships with a network of senior experts throughout the firm and externally to ensure flawless execution and timely delivery of corporate-level content, including white papers, articles, thought leadership, product collateral, platform-onboarding materials, among others.

Partner with marketing teams to develop content optimized for and to distribute it through a wide array of channels, including web, email, social, events, podcasts, advertising, earned-media, collateral, etc.

Liaise with teams across client marketing, investor relations, investment platforms, social, communications, legal, and compliance to support the adaptation of corporate-level content to the needs of our distinct and diverse audiences. In partnership with marketing, define and socialize standards and guidelines that support consistency in brand, messaging, tone, and quality across content outputs.

Collaborate with marketing partners to measure the success of content performance and distribution, conducting post-campaign analysis to refine content strategy, inform prioritization, demonstrate ROI, and improve effectiveness over time.

Provide leadership over the firm’s video program, helping to reinforce video as a core pillar of the content ecosystem and to ensure that video output is strong, polished, and supports broader content and business goals. Navigate ambiguity and competing priorities with sound judgment, diplomacy, and a solutions-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Ten plus years of experience building and scaling content in accordance with a well-defined content strategy, preferably within financial services
  • Strategic thinker who is equally comfortable defining vision and driving execution. Deep appreciation for content as a strategic asset, with demonstrable experience managing content, and building processes, governance frameworks, and scalable content operations within complex organizations
  • Ability to manage a variety of internal and external partners and vendors, including copywriters, graphic designers, editors, and proofreaders. Outstanding skills in organization, prioritization, and time management
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate independently; drive clarity in ambiguous environments; build relationships and consensus across cross-functional teams; and manage multiple high-priority initiatives in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity managing content approvals cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, and multiple senior stakeholders
  • It is expected that the base annual salary range for this New York City-based position will be $275,000-$300,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance. Blue Owl is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
